I just found this the other day while looking for versions of WRS. Wonderful show! Highlights are the WRS > LiG > DS > China Doll, but lots of gems scattered throughout: Loser, Row Jimmy, NFA > GDTRFB ...

For some reason, the start of WRS always reminds me of this gorgeous song by Youssou N’Dour. I have no idea what he’s singing, but it sure sounds lovely:

Anyway, does anyone have suggestions for don’t-miss WRSs? I’m partial to 12/18/73 ...

... but I’ve never looked concertedly. I’m on a bit of a WRS kick right now (unless it switches to a Youssou N’Dour kick), so ... any favorites to share?

i've got a soft spot for 12.02.73, but i guess i like the tighter, better played versions as opposed to the sloppy messes from 74 everyone has been recommending....jk

it's on dicks pick 14. there are 2 wrs's on 14, the good one is the second one. ;)

I really enjoy the WRS from DP12, 6-28-74 Boston Garden. The jam out of LiG is truly epic.

Jerry fans MUST hear 7/29/74 - amazing melodic jam that does not let up once! my new favorite...and its also a great show overall too, nice 2nd set jams http://www.archive.org/details/gd1974-07-29.sbd.miller.107756.flac16 and i also agree that 7/19/74 is probably the best ever though there are others i have been enjoying more lately, such as this one.

I agree, 12/18/73 is my favorite performance of WRS as well. It may not be as "perfect" as the Freedom Hall rendition from 6/18/74, but the approach is way more creative. As great as the Kentucky WRS is, there are a few that I enjoy quite a bit more, including the Selland Arena performance that fireeagle mentioned.

I'd go with the Eaton sourced Miller remaster of 12/18/73 though...

Missoula is a great listen.

For WRS, i think this is my favorite and it has the added bonus that it is part of a WRS>Stella combo:

Apparently bobby got hit in the face with a thrown beer bottle at that show.
I Really like the bounce in scarlet too.

I got backstage passes unexpectedly gifted to me while walking into a Dylan show at the Harry Adams fieldhouse in Missoula.

6/28/74 with the MLB is my favorite, but the 11/11/73 version might be the most perfect. I don't like the 06/18/74 rendition as much as others, but it certainly is well played.

Not sure where this one ranks, but it's a good one with a cool little Spanish Jam.

Speaking of 7-19-74, I have to share what I consider to be one of the great reviews on the site. Below is a review of a show with killer jammed out versions of Weather Report, Eyes, and Playin, and a number of other good tunes, including a top Scarlet. Agnt1831 wrote:

That's really funny. Takes all kinds. One of my favorite reviews is on a YouTube vid; the reviewer complains about the band's choice of clothing in the 80s, on the grounds that in the earlier years they were really hip. And it seems serious.
